This fascinating 4-DAYS DESERT TOUR FROM MARRAKECH TO FES starts with a breathtaking journey to the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and the film studios of Ouarzazate across the High Atlas Mountains.
The Dades Valley and Todra Gorges are explored on day two, followed by a breathtaking evening in Merzouga’s Erg Chebbi Dunes. The third day includes camel riding to an overnight camp in the desert and cultural interactions. Enjoy a breathtaking dawn on the last day before traveling to Fes. En route, you’ll pass by the markets in Rissani and Arfoud’s fossil workshop, as well as beautiful vistas of the Ziz Valley and Ifrane, capping off your incredible journey across the desert.
On the first day of a 4-DAY TOUR FROM MARRAKECH, you will be picked up in the morning from the airport or your lodging in Marrakech and driven to the desert, passing through the magnificent High Atlas Mountains and across the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass. Along the route, there will be opportunities to pause and take in the stunning scenery from a broad perspective.
The renowned Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou is the next destination on our journey and a must-see. This fortified settlement is now recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is included on the World Heritage List. The Kasbah has also appeared in a number of movies, such as Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, etc.
We next go to Ouarzazate and stop at the movie studios where a number of well-known movies were filmed. We’ll have lunch and then go to explore the Rose Valley, which will include traveling past a large grove of palm trees in Skoura. Finally, we’re going to spend the night in Boumalne Dades.
We’ll take a trip around the Dades Valley after breakfast. We’ll make a halt where we can get an aerial perspective of the valley and take in the breathtaking panorama of the Dades gorges. We’ll go on to Todra Gorges after that. The mountains have a large canyon cut by the Todra River, with huge red rocks on each side.
There, you may stroll about and take in the breathtaking surroundings. After that, we’ll go via Touroug and Tinjdad, which are regions with a lot of palm palms. On the way, you’ll have time for lunch.
At last, we reach Erg Chebbi’s Merzouga Dunes, where you will settle into your accommodation and have a captivating meal accompanied by customary Berber melodies. The hotel offers distinctive and cozy lodgings that let you completely enjoy the calm beauty of the nighttime desert.
After a delectable breakfast, we take a journey to Khamlia village, where you may enjoy authentic Gnawa music performed to captivating rhythms. Then, deviating from the planned path, we’ll travel along unpaved road across the dunes and stop to have tea with nomads who live in traditional Berber tents. You’ll get to see a new way of life via this immersive experience, and you’ll even get to eat lunch—Berber pizza.
After unwinding at the hotel in the late afternoon, you’ll get ready for an amazing camel ride into the center of the dunes to see the magnificent sunset. After being welcomed with mint tea at the camp, you may relax in your comfortable tents with private bathrooms and showers while the Sahara displays its breathtaking nighttime colors. Dinner is served, and while you dine, the group around the fire performs some music, adding to the romantic atmosphere of a starry Sahara night.
To ensure you don’t miss this amazing sight, get up early today to see the magnificent dawn, when the dunes come to life with an enthralling display of colors and shadows. You will ride your camel back to the Merzouga after breakfast, where you will meet your driver and go to Fes.
We will make a stop at the vibrant traditional market of Rissani on the route. When you wander through its busy streets on a market day—Sundays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays—you’ll be met with a colorful display of colors, scents, and noises. We next make our way to Arfoud, where you may stop at a workshop that displays petrified marble.
The journey continues over the middle Atlas Mountains and the charming palm groves of ZIZ VALLEY. We are going to see Azrou’s cedar forest, where several entertaining monkeys reside. After that, take a journey to Ifrane, often called Morocco’s Switzerland, so you may explore the town’s magnificence and capture stunning pictures. Drop you off to your Fes lodging.
